Square Boy.

burgers and souvlaki... Another popular place along the Danforth that many students in the area go to for lunch is Square Boy. At lunch time during the week, this place is packed (mostly with Eastern Commerce students dying for good cheap food), with lineups reaching outside the restaurant. The big orange sign is hard to miss and when you step up to the door you can see the specials that everyone gets.

A few other student teachers and I went there for lunch and I got the
Chicken Souvlaki on a Pita (or Bun) with Fries ($5.95 + tax). I got this based on recommendations from other Teachers and Students. The chicken souvlaki was awesome, with giant tender pieces of chicken topped with tomatoes and tons of Tzatziki Sauce. My friend got a Hamburger Special that comes with Fries and a Pop ($4.25), which is an amazing price, especially since the burgers are charcoal grilled.
Tip: When getting toppings for either your Hamburger or Chicken Souvlaki on a Bun/Pita, you won't see lettuce on the counter, but just ask them for it and they will get some for you.

As this place is really busy, I would suggest to go here before 11:45 or after 1 pm to avoid the lunch rush. It is a great place on the Danforth to get some quality food for some pretty cheap prices. Square Boy is located at 875 Danforth Avenue (at Danforth/ Jones, west of Donlands TTC Station).

  1. Another amazing place is Messini at 445 Danforth. The best deal is to have 2 ppl and get the Combo which comes with 2 sides and 2 gyros. the chicken gyros are the best, they are gigantic and stuffed with fries. best sides are to get greek salad and greek fries with feta cheese all over it. you can add feta on your gyro too, but then you'd have feta on salad, fries and gyro. The whole thing is only $12.95 + tax. And bread with some olive paste is provided before the meal so that's really plenty and super affordable.
