Lucky Season Cuisine.
dim sum... As a Chinese person, the love of dim sum is in my blood! On the weekend, for some reason I woke up pretty early, so I went with my parents to Lucky Season Cuisine to grab some dim sum. This place was pretty busy and we had to wait in line for a couple minutes at about 10 am on a Saturday. If you don't know what dim sum is, it is basically Chinese style brunch where you order and eat a wide range of small dishes and drink Chinese tea along with the meal.
It was only 3 of us, my parents and I and we ended up having about 11 different dishes. There were a lot of variety in food including classic dim sum dishes such as Shrimp Dumplings (蝦餃 har gau) and Steamed Pork and Shrimp Dumplings (燒賣 siu mai). Other popular dim sum dishes we got were Rice Noodle Rolls filled with BBQ pork (腸粉 cheong fun), Chiu Chow style Dumplings (潮州粉果 chiu-chau fun guo) and Egg Tarts (蛋撻 dan tat) made with a milk/cream filling rather than eggs (it was less sweet than usual egg tarts, but very good still). We also got some pineapple buns filled with bbq pork (fresh out of the oven and sooo good), sticky rice, steamed rice with preserved meat and fried noodles. Most of the stuff at this place were really good, especially because the items were less oily than many crappier dim sum places.
To order items here, there is a menu where you tick off what you want. At the same time though, there are special items that waiters carry around once in awhile that anyone can ask for. The best time to come here is on weekdays, where all the dishes (which are classified as Small, Medium and Large) go for $2.20 each. The large steamed rice dishes in the hot pots go for $4.00. Weekends cost a little more. Lucky Season Cuisine is located at the Times Square Plaza (Leslie/Highway 7) in Richmond Hill (same plaza as "Northern Dumpling Kitchen" and "Health Herb and Harmony").

I'm very disappointed with LUCKY SEASON CUISINE, yesterday (June 11, 2009) around lunch hour while having lunch with my family, my little girl fell from her chair and hit her chin against other chair which cause her chin to BLEED very HEAVILY. While the I asked if the restaurent to call 911, they REFUSE to dial the number. I don't know why and I was very mad. I wouldn't return to this restaurent and wouldn't recommend this restaurent to anyone. The level of service is terrible.
ReplyDeleteoh man..that really sucks..hopefully it was an isolated incident as i had pretty decent service when i was there
