Starbucks Biscotti.

WRITTEN and EATEN by Florence Tang

Starbucks
is well known for their overpriced, calorie-laden treats that are perfect compliments to their strong coffee. With their old-fashioned donuts and full fat loaves, it's hard for the health conscious population to find a satisfying treat to go with their coffee. Being a guilty starbucks fan, I find that their new biscotti collection is a gratifying bitter and sweet blend for a midday pick-me-up. The one being reviewed specifically is the caramel macchiato biscotti, which is also one of their signature drinks with one shot of espresso, steamed milk, and a caramel drizzle on top of the frothy milk foam. The biscotti takes on the same flavour with a crisp yet solid cookie dipped in a yogurt-like icing that can be dunked in your hot cup of coffee without falling apart. The other flavours include vanilla almond biscotti and chocolate hazelnut biscotti which are readily available usually placed next to the madelines and mixed nuts.Individually, they are $3 each, if you buy them in a box of six, they come to about $1.25 each. They are exactly the same: the ones you buy in the box are also individually wrapped, so they are convenient to take with you for the day.

They are only 160 calories each! So with cup of black coffee, this
midday power snack would only be 165 calories!
